the paper version of the Boulez Project is 6” wide
the horizontal grid is 3/4 inches — 8 divisions
these numbers don’t work out well
maybe use 8*8 grid instead of a base 64 number
8*12 = 96
8*16 = 128
8*24 = 192
8*32 = 256
8*64 = 512 this may be a good number because it brings in both
but what would be a good vertical
back to the 48 division
8*48 = 384
that would set the screen at 384 x 512
instead of 384 x 648
648 contains 64 and 8 as numbers but doesn’t give a good division
648/8 = 81 a nine number
try the 512 x 384
set up a grid but most of the project doesn’t really line up to a grid
started work on the Boulez project
need a linking mechanism
the idea that once the text is ‘established’ jpeg images could be used —
this might have some value for alignment and thumbnails would be easy
or I could jpeg the text just to make thumbnails
variations on the status of the text
text as text and text as image
with the print version there is the center line that puts the text on one side and the word plays next to them
the screen does not have enough room for this
try to think of some way of simulating this
possibly in some thumbnail index
possibly link using page numbers with a link to an index at either end if there is not enough room
